ICO Plast-N

Normal Water Reducing Admixture / Plasticiser for Concrete.


Description

ICO PLAST – N is normal setting water reducing admixture / plasticizer based on purified metallic salts of lignosulphonate which increases the workability of concrete and allows a water reduction up to 7 to 15 % of mixing water.
ICO PLAST-N conforms to IS: 9103-1999, IS: 2645-2003 & ASTM C-494 TYPE A.


Uses

It is used in producing more workable concrete. In other words concrete slump is increased considerably or else strength can be increased substantially at same slump through water reduction, cement can be saved up to 10%.

ICO Plast Super HS

High Range Water Reducing Admixture & Integral Cement Waterproofer for Concrete


Description

ICO PLAST SUPER HS is new generation of concrete admixture based on a blend of specially selected organic polymers, combining the properties of superplasticiser with high degree of slump retention characteristics, high range water reducer and integral cement waterproofer for concrete complying with IS:9103-1999, IS:2645-2003 and ASTM C-494 Type F&G.


Uses

ICO PLAST SUPER HS can be used to either produce an extremely workable FLOWING CONCRETE without loss of strength or to enable large water reduction to be made for the same workability which result in a dense, water tight concrete with higher ultimate strength..


Features

Substantial improvements in workability and flow properties without increased water produces self leveling concrete which can be poured into place around congested reinforcement and requires little (or no) vibration to achieve optimum compaction. The bond strength of concrete to reinforcement steel is considerably increased.

The internal friction and thixotropy of the mix is reduced to a minimum without the risk of segregation, thus making concrete pumping more efficient.

Description

ICO PLAST SUPER is new generation concrete admixture based on modified Sulphonated naphthalene formaldehyde, combining the properties of superplasticisers with high degree of slump retention characteristics, high range water reducer and also acts as waterproofers for concrete, conforms to ASTM C-494.

ICO Super Plast C300

Very High Range Water Reducing Admixture for Self-Compacting Concrete


Description

ICO PLAST SUPER-C-300 is a new generation of concrete admixture based on a blend of specially selected high molecular weight poly carboxylate ether (PCE) and organic polymers. ICO PLAST SUPER-C-300 conforms to IS:9103-1999 and ASTM C-494TypeF&G.


Uses

ICO PLAST SUPER-C-300 can be used to either produce high performance extremely workable FLOWING CONCRETE without loss of strength to enable large water reduction to be made for the same workability which results in a dense, water tight concrete with higher, early and ultimate strength. Water reduction up to 40% can be achieved through proper quality control.


Features

The bond strength of concrete to reinforcing steel is considerably increased.

The internal friction and thixotropy of the mix is reduced to a minimum without the risk of segregation, thus making the concrete very much workable. For self compacting concrete, use ICO VISCOPLAST to reduce excessive bleeding and settlement.

Very significant water reduction minimizes shrinkage or cracking, producing close textured impervious concrete with improved durability and surface finish. This is of particular importance in liquid retaining and water bearing structures. Suitable for use in most type of concrete above and below ground subject to surface water, water under pressure and aggressive atmospheric conditions.

For a given concrete mix keeping the cement consumption and workability constant, large reduction in the amount of mixing water (upto 40%) can be achieved to produce concrete of very high strength. Mainly over M-50 mixes ICO PLAST SUPER-C-300 can be used alongwith micro silica keeping the flow parameters tight (60 – 80 mm) for high initial and ultimate strength.

Quick Retarding Water Reducing Admixture / Plasticiser


Description

ICO PLAST-R is a powerful set retarding plasticiser based on combination of selected Hydroxy-Carboxylate salt and other high molecular weight polymers. This has high plasticizing effect and delayed initial set to avoid cold joints in case of long span concreting operation like bridge constructions, mass concretes, piling etc. ICO PLAST - R conforms to IS 9103-1999 and ASTM C-494, Type-D.

Retarding Type Slump Retaining and Pumping Concrete Admixture / Plasticiser


Description

ICO-PLAST PPR is a concrete admixture based on long chain polymers combining the properties of concrete plasticiser, retarder and rheology improver complying with IS: 9103-1999 & ASTM C 494.


Uses

ICO-PLAST PPR improves the cohesion of highly workable concrete mixes. When ICO-PLAST PPR is added to a less fines concrete mix, it increases the adhesion of the cement to the aggregate particles. This results in considerably reduced segregation, especially where the mix is being placed by pneumatic pump.

ICO Plast MMF

Superplasticiser/High Range Water Reducing Admixture


Description

ICO PLAST-MMF is a high range water reducing Admixture based on modified poly condensate of melamine and formaldehyde. It is a brown liquid and gets dispersed immediately in concrete mix together with water. It conforms to IS:9103-1999 and ASTM-494 Type F.


Uses

ICO PLAST-MMF can be used together produce and extremely workable FLOWING CONCRETE without loss of strength or to enable large water reduction to be made for the same workability resulting in dense concrete with higher ultimate strength. This product is quite helpful in producing pumpable concrete, pre-cast, concrete, pre-stressed concrete, industrial/commercial flooring with floor toppings and in areas where early shutter stripping are required (Table-I). It is also used in factory for emergency repair during short duration of shutdown. ICO No. 3 is used for pointing of leaky joints.

Air Entraining Agent For Concrete & Mortar


Description

ICO PLAST AEA is a slight alkaline solution, miscible with water, with a specific gravity of 1.02. It is an air entraining agent based on selected natural rosin and synthetic additives, complying with ASTM-C 260-66T &IS: 9103-1999.


Uses

ICO PLAST AEA should be used wherever a well compacted durable concrete, resistant to extreme thermal variation and frost action is required. Such situations include roads, runways pavement, hard-stands dams, canal lining, open storage areas, etc.

ICO PLAST AEA is of great benefit in light weight concrete, where it improves workability and reduces tendency to bleed. It is useful in reducing the density of light weight concrete blocks, so that blocks meet thermal insulation requirements. ICO PLAST AEA gives increased durability to dense concrete and because of the entrained air, a reduction in material costs is achieved.

Accelerating Water Reducing Admixture


Description

ICO PLAST-A is a liquid used as a concrete accelerating and plasticising agent complying with ASTM C-494 Type E, IS:9103-1999 & IS: 2645-2000.


Uses

The use of ICO PLAST-A accelerates the setting and hardening of concrete mix, thereby achieving higher early strength with all the resultant advantages of speeding up the job. These accelerating properties of ICO PLAST-A can be utilized in many ways, all of which can be shown to save time and money.

The benefit to be derived from the use of ICO PLAST-A is that of reducing the water content of the concrete or mortar without any loss of workability. This improves the general properties of the mix, reduces the risk of segregation, and increases the density and the compressive strength thereby making the concrete highly impervious and more durable.

For working in very low ambient temperatures the incorporation of ICO PLAST-A provides the means to continue the placing of concrete. As an anti-frost, ICO PLAST-A offers protection in two ways firstly, by reducing the water content, which is vulnerable to frost, secondly, by the ingredients which permit the hydration of the cement to continue as it would at normal temperature by heat evolution.

In all types of plain pre-cast concrete work, where earlier release of moulds and handling of units is essential for economical production, ICO PLAST-A is invaluable.

ICO MS

High Performance Silica Fume For Concrete


Description

ICO MS is a dry, compacted, silica fume high performance mineral admixture formulated to produce concrete with special performance qualities. It improves the hardened characteristics of concrete in two ways. Firstly ICO MS is a chemically active pozzolan, which reacts with the hydrated lime generates from hydration reaction of cement and forms calcium silicate hydrate gel, thus improving the strength and impermeability of the concrete. Secondly, ICO MS is ultra-fine material that, when added to concrete physically fills the voids between cement particles and provides an extremely dense and impermeable concrete.


Uses

The reduced permeability of concrete produced with ICO MS greatly limits the ingress of water soluble chlorides, sulfates, and aggressive chemical known for promoting reinforcing steel corrosion and other distresses in concrete. This makes ICO MS an ideal product for use in basement structures, parking decks; bridge decks marine structures and any construction that requires the protection provided by impermeable concrete.

Because of its pozzolanic and void filling properties, the addition of ICO MS to conventional concrete also provides ultra high compressive strength. This allows design flexibility, resulting in reduced member size, increased span lengths, and improved overall structural economics.

As a result of the preceding advantages, ICO MS will improve performance in pre-stressed, pre-cast, and ready mixed concrete applications.

ICO MS can be used with Portland cement. When air entrainment is desired, a ICO air-entraining admixture is recommended. It is also recommended that ICO MS be used in combination with a high range water-reducing admixture, such as ICO PLAST SUPER.



Applications

It is recommended that ICO MS be used with a ICO high-range water reducer in order to provide maximum workability while maintaining the desired low water/cement ratio.

ICO MS is recommended for use at an addition rate of 3 to 20% by weight of cement, depending on the amount of strength increase or impermeability desired. The exact amount for strength or durability requirements should be determined by trial batches using project materials.

The above addition rate applies to most concrete mixes using average concrete ingredients. Note: For directions on the proper use of ICO MS in specific applications, contact local ICO representative.
